Congratulations on your upcoming or recent release. Thank-you for visiting the BTG webpage,
already you are making the right choices for continued sobriety…

Bridging the Gap is an Alcoholics Anonymous General Service sub-committee that supports that very important step for alcoholics who have just been or soon to be released from a hospital, treatment center or correctional facility.
By providing a temporary contact, Bridging the Gap helps newcomers make the transition to Alcoholics Anonymous in his or her home community.
Members in Alcoholics Anonymous usually acting in pairs, meet the newcommer after being released and accompany them to their first A.A. meeting. As a newcommer you shall be accompanied to a variety of meetings, introduced to the fellowship, and shared with the experience, strength, and hope that we as Alcoholics have been introduced to.
As with all 12th step work, this activity is entirely voluntary.

If you recently have been or soon shall be released from a hospital, treatment center or a correctional facility and would like for the hand of A.A. to assist you with the transition to the A.A. way of life on the outside,
click on the REQUEST TO BE BRIDGED link and provide us with the time and location contact information.

Your contact information shall be sent to the BTG Coordinator within that district, who will then pick from a list of volunteers, a temporary contact person fimiliar with meetings in your destination area.
Your privacy is important to us, in fact Anonymity is one of our founding Traditions.

We look forward to hearing from you in the hopes of sharing this journey together.
