BRIDGING THE GAP - A.A. - Niagara Region

Thank-you for visiting our Bridging the Gap webpage. We welcome you to our fellowship and already you are making the right choices for continued sobriety. You are not alone.
Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a service provided by Alcoholics Anonymous that supports a person who is leaving a treatment centre, a detox facility/hospital, a correction facility or looking to attend their first AA meeting(s) in the Niagara Area. Our primary purpose in AA is to help others achieve sobriety. This is a voluntary service provided as part of our 12 Step Work.

The BTG Committee will provide you with a member of our A.A. Fellowship who will be your Temporary Contact Person to introduce you to AA in the Niagara Region, to take you to your first AA meeting and introduce you to other AA members in your community. Your Temporary Contact Person from BTG will contact you by telephone or email to:

  • make arrangements to attend with you to your first A.A. Meeting and introduce you to others;
  • provide you with information about the A.A. fellowship and what A.A. does and does not do;
  • introduce you to our literature, particularly the "Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous";
  • inform you of the types of meetings and the importance of having a home group;
  • introduce you to other members in your city and share about anonymity; and
  • explain sponsorship and perhaps help your find a sponsor.
If you recently have been or soon shall be released from a hospital, treatment center or a correctional facility and/or would like for the hand of A.A. to assist you with transitioning into our A.A. Fellowship, click on your city on the MAP below to fill out the BTG Request Form.
